Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program

The Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering offers programs of study leading to the degrees of Master of Science with major in Mechanical Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with major in Mechanical Engineering.

The Master of Science program has both thesis and non-thesis options.  The thesis option requires a minimum of 24 semester credits of coursework and a thesis (6 additional credits).  The non-thesis option requires a minimum of 33 semester credits of coursework (no thesis).  Requirements for the Ph.D. program are described below.
